This process if performed by specialized software, processing might entail extracting files from folders, deleting meaningless system data, Deduplication, Data Filtering, extracting metadata or converting certain file formats in preparation for attorney review.

REVIEW

Evaluating ESI for relevance & privilege. Document review is a critical part in most litigation cases, as it is the means of identifying responsive documents to produce and privileged documents to withhold. PRODUCTION

ESI determined to be responsive or relevant must be produced for use as potential evidence. E-Discovery rules which are set per case will address how documents must be produced to other parties.
